Emiratisation Rate At ADNEC To Hit 51%
(26 November 2014)

Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company has announced that it has achieved an Emiratisation rate of 50 percent of the total workforce. The number of Emirati employees is up from 44 percent in 2013. ADNEC expects this figure to rise to 51 percent by end of 2014, as part of its strategic objective to nurture and develop future Emirati business leaders.

ADNEC currently employs a total of 103 Emiratis, of which 45 percent are women. The 47 female Emirati employees represent 68 percent of the total female workforce at the company.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri Acting Group CEO of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company, said: “Business tourism is central to the future economic success of the emirate of Abu Dhabi. And we recognise how important it is that Emiratis choose this industry as a fulfilling and rewarding career, so we are creating pathways to achieve this priority. The industry’s success rests on the quality of talent it is able to attract and retain.

“We also understand that in order to develop the best talent we must invest in their progress and we continue to create unique learning opportunities for both established and new employees,” continued Al Dhaheri. “Our annual strategic plan has been carefully developed and is regularly updated to ensure that it meets the evolving demands of each department, and that it continues to arm employees with the skills required for sustained professional success.”

ADNEC has developed a comprehensive training programme that aims to develop a number of skills among national employees at the company. The three-phased programme involves firstly, the recruitment of uniquely qualified individuals by promoting the company as an attractive place to work. The second element of the programme involves offering competitive employment terms with optimum benefits; and the third element prioritises the provision of training to employees to give them the best chance of professional success.

The training programme – the second of ADNEC’s three elements – is the ADNEC-ExCeL London scholarship programme. The initiative allows key ADNEC staff to spend up to eight weeks at the UK’s leading exhibition venue, where ExCeL experts share insights and experience with the trainees through mentoring and workshops.

“The retention and development of national talent is a top priority for ADNEC,” said Al Dhaheri. “Moving forward, our business will ensure the provision of quality training, career development opportunities and performance incentives for our workforce that allows nationals to continue to make a contribution to the success of our organisation.”
